You're Already the Kind of Person Camps Are Looking For
Skilled, outdoorsy, good with people, and up for something bigger than the usual.
You want a summer that actually means something - warm weather, good money, and a passport stamp you'll talk about for years. You just need someone who's done this a thousand times before to show you how.
That's us.

Who We Are
AmeriCamp NZ is the New Zealand arm of AmeriCamp, run from Auckland and Christchurch by International Working Holidays (IWH).
For you, that means something pretty simple. You get the backing of the wider AmeriCamp programme, with a real New Zealand team helping you through it.
IWH was founded right here in New Zealand by A Kiwi in 2001, and since then our Auckland team has spent more than 24 years helping over 9,000 Kiwis get to summer camps across the USA.
So you don't have to figure out camp, placements, visas and all the paperwork on your own.

You'll have an experienced local team to guide you from your first application to getting on that plane.
Real people. Local support. And a team that's done this thousands of times before.
So when you apply for AmeriCamp NZ, you're dealing with a real team here in New Zealand who know the camp journey inside out and are with you every step of the way. We're not a call centre or a faceless global portal.
We're a friendly Auckland team who answer actual emails, take actual phone calls, and know what it's like to sit in a freezing Kiwi flat in July wondering if three months of American sunshine might be a very good idea.
Spoiler: it is.
You've Got a Local Team
Behind You
Why We Do This
We've placed over 9,000 Kiwis - sailors, coaches, lifeguards, musicians, outdoor instructors, and plenty of people who just love kids and figured the rest out along the way - into three months of American sunshine, USD in the bank, and friendships that last well past camp.
We've also seen what happens when someone tries to go it alone through a confusing global process with no one local to call.
That's the gap we fill.

We handle the visa process, the paperwork, and the questions that keep you up at night, so all you have to focus on is getting on the plane.
We won't pretend it's all easy - long shifts, patchy WiFi, and homesickness are part of the summer camp in America deal too.
We'd rather tell you that now than have you find out at camp.
That's how we've built trust with over 24 years of New Zealanders who've done this before you.
